The Waterdrop

Mix Sap Green, Burnt Sienna and introduce a small amount of Sepia and Prussian Blue until you have a dilute dark green.Pick up your no2 sable brush and paint a thin dark circle on the leaf (figure A). Outside of the circle paint a carefully built up shadow, this is the shadow that is cast by the waterdrop (figure B). Make sure that the paint is very dilute so that you can still see the leaf underneath that you are painting. Now inside the waterdrop at the top lightly blend the dark green from darkest at the top to fading away to nothing, again use the paint very dilute so that you can still see the leaf under where you are painting (figure C). Dry with the hairdryer. Lastly mix some Titanium White straight from the pot and with the point of your no2 sable brush place a small dot near the top of the waterdrop (figure D).
